The Hobbit movie review

Okay.... I kind of put this one off until yesterday instead of opening day since I was told this one is boring. But I went anyway. IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN LOTR!

Spoiler

How can it be boring when it starts with a dragon destroying a city, then the dwarf pack being attacked by trolls, then attacked by orcs, finding the elvish city, falling through a mountain to be attacked by goblins, meeting Golem, etc.... It is not boring!

Go see the movie, I did in 3D and the panoramic shots of middle earth (new Zealand) are beautiful!

It is a 2.5 hour long movie, so go to the bathroom before it starts!

Life of Pi. Movie Review

All I can say is WOW! The nature scenes are so vivid and dramatic. The imagery is beautiful. The explanation/twist at the end had me reeling and I was almost in tears. The great thing is that everyone will enjoy this movie, I am sure that my 6 & 7 year old brothers will love this, they might tear up at the end, but in a happy way!

I was listening to people talk about the movie while exiting the theater and they all seemed to love it. If you get a chance to see this movie... Do it! This is one that I will be buying as soon as it hits DVD, and I will probably go see it in theaters again! It is THAT good! Oh yeah, I saw it in 3D so the imagery was that more impactful.

Hint: when you see the island in the movie, look closely at the shape the island makes!

Movies and Music

I had a 3 day weekend so I consumed a lot of media during that time.

Movie Reviews

Twilight; Breaking Dawn pt2

Awesome: I never read the books and don't plan to, but I did watch ALL of the movies in theaters. This one has it all, a story line, drama, action, and special effects. I was very satisfied! The only drawback is that we went on opening weekend so we had to deal with hordes of Tweens! The twist at the end was amazing... The entire audience sighed at the same time! (Check out my interview with Chris Riggi who played Jacob in the Twilight spoof, "Vampires Suck")

Wreck-It Ralph 3D

Not what I was expecting but still a great movie! The racing scenes were great in 3D. I loved seeing all of my favorite game characters make cameos. I just wish they would have had bigger roles. Good story line, my little brothers loved it, but the liked Twilight more!

Cloud Atlas

W.O.W. I was a little scared of this movie going in, lots of story lines and the same people playing multiple roles. It worked! Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, and many others just make it work! The movie is nearly 3 hours long but it felt like only 30 minutes! Make sure that if you are going to watch this movie that you can devote your entire attention to it, because if you can't, you might get lost!

Music Reviews

I had (2) six hour road trips this weekend, so I had the time to really listen to some albums all the way through!

Believe it or not, I listened to Justin Bieber's newest album called "Believe" It is really good! It does not sound anything like his prior albums. I really liked his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, called "Beauty & a Beat" Bieber is growing up and so is his sound... This album proves that JB is going to be around for a very long time!

I also listened to an EP by the group "State and Madison". I don't even know how I got this EP or how long I've had it, but it is pretty good. Rock/Pop would be my guess. If you are wanting to go Indie but don't know where to start, this group could be your gateway! Their music is not well known but full of infectious beats and lyrics. See if you can find a copy... It's worth it!

Jimmy Elliott TV and Holding of Wrist interview

So first things first.... Give us a brief bio of yourself:

Yeah, totally. My name is Jimmy Elliott. I'm 19 years old and
currently live in Richmond, Virginia. I want to mention that I have
zero fans in this world, everyone is a friend, just like my friend Mod
Sun. When you use the word "fans" that puts me on a pedestal; But,
we're all equals here, I am and will always be just a normal person.

Tell me about the very first YouTube video you posted?

Haha my very first video. Wow, that was in 2008 and it was probably
the most awkward thing that I've done in my life. It was two minutes
straight of me sitting there quiet while making terrible terrible jokes.

What drew you to YouTube?

I'm not exactly sure to be honest. I saw a couple people making
vlogs, and I figured, well why can't I do that? So I grabbed my crappy
webcam and started making videos, it evolved from there.

What do you contribute to the success of your channel?

I think dedication and consistency has huge parts to play
in everyone's Youtube channels. If you're not dedicated or making
videos you love, you will fail. You need to stay true to yourself and
make things you love. I always tell people that after you edit it, and
YOU don't laugh or love it, don't upload it. Consistency has a huge
party also, upload at least once a week.

What are your favorite channels/genres to watch on YouTube?

Damon ("Deefizzy") is my all-time favorite Youtuber because of his
positive vibes. My other favorites are: All of Shay Carl's channels,
Meghan Camarena ("Strawburry17") and Joey Graceffa ("JoeyGraceffa").

What has been your most favorite video to post? Why?

That's difficult because I have so many favorites! Well my favorite
right now is "Color Beach". I filmed it when I drove down to the bay
for the day. Here's a secret, the audio in it isn't the actual audio. I
found the clip online and it fit perfectly into the video.

What video that you have posted has meant the most to you?

Probably "Simplicity" which went up a little after my 19th birthday.
It means a lot to me because my girlfriend and family is in it and it,
just, holds a lot of memories :)

What video has garnered the most feedback and why?

I believe my most viewed video is "Picture The Sunrise" which is a
music video I made to a song by my friend, Mod Sun. I'm honestly not
sure why it has the most views or interaction, because
I initially didn't intend to film that.

What career are wanting to go into?

I plan on being a psychologist in the future. It's been my plan
since I went into high school several years ago.

How has having a popular YouTube channel prepare you for psychology?

I feel like Youtube has prepared me for a lot more than just my
future career. Having thousands of people watching you, yet you don't
know them, is a really strange feeling- but it's cool. I get to
communicate with a lot of people, and I think communication helps
everyone with everything in the future.

RAPID FIRE! Favorite:
celebrity : Ghandi
candy : Pixy Stix
sports team : UVA
sport : Football
food : mozzarella sticks & French fries
color : Light Blue

actor : Robin Williams
song : Some Nights by FUN
singer : Too Hard a Question HaHa
animal : moose
interviewer : you of course
month : September
tv show : Flash Point
school subject : Psycology
type of car : Any Type of Pick-up

For the ladies..... Boxers or briefs?

Boxers of course!

Describe a perfect date:

The perfect date would be me picking up the girl at her
house, getting her flowers, then us driving down to the beach for the
day and having dinner with the sunset.

Tell us something about yourself that even your biggest fans (friends) don't know yet?

Hmmm something my FRIENDS
don't know, that's a difficult one. I think probably that I'm more
normal than you would think. Though I am a very positive person, I
also, like you, have my bad days.

Lets switch tracks a little.... Tell me about Holding of Wrist.

Yes! Holding of Wrist was a
group I started in 2008 after I went through a lot of my personal
issues. The focus is towards those dealing with self-harm, depression,
and suicidal thoughts. HOW has over 100,000 supporters worldwide, and
has replied to 75,000 e-mails/myspace messages.

Do you have some stories to share that has been a result of HoW?

I have a ton of
stories that have resulted from Holding of Wrist, but something that
really sticks out to me is the people I've met. I've gotten the chance
to meet the most amazing people in the world. I love hearing several
months later from people who say things like they got help, they
stopped cutting, or even that Holding of Wrist saved their life. THAT
is truly an amazing thing to hear, because it reminds you why you do
what you do and brings you back home, ya know? It keeps you grounded.

What are you plans for HoW 5 yrs from now? 20 years out?

Some exciting things are happening with Holding of Wrist, mostly
behind the scenes. Holding of Wrist can only survive with the support
of all HOW staff, it's not only me anymore. In the next year, we teamed
up with Ark of Hope for Children and several other organizations to do
an east coast tour! In the next 20 years, we hope to change the world.
It's all about positive thinking and taking it one step at a time. In
the meantime, I'm excited about this tour so I can personally meet a
lot of new people.

I was watching the info video you made for HoW with the statistics, and they
really are compelling and thought provoking.... How can we help?

Yes, they are! I was doing the math using our
records from 2008 and when it came to those numbers I nearly passed
out! The thought of that much happening in just four years is so
amazing! I would say that if you want to support Holding of Wrist,
support your friends, the person alone at lunch, and the world. People
need to love other people more often, it's the only way the world is
going to survive. Along those lines, please visit our Twitter &
Facebook and share them with your friends

Anything you would like to add?

I just want to say thank
you to www.TeeJayToday.com for this opportunity, thank you to everyone who
supports me and Holding of Wrist, it really means a lot. I also want to
add that no matter where life may take me, I will always remain humble
and true to myself and I want people to know that. I will always
support YOU; I am here for YOU, not me. I love you, and you're an
amazing and beautiful person, always remember that. Thanks so much TJ!

Movie Reviews

So..... Halloween is coming and I decided I needed to write about a couple horror movies. New ones, not ones everyone has been watching for years. (And one that is not scary)

Paranormal Activity 4
In this installment they upped the shock factor a bit. The demon is more active, a creepy little kid, a cult..... Fun for everyone! I really love that the Microsoft Kinect gets a lot of screen time in this one.... Plus I really need to try what they do with it in this sequel. I also like that they brought the franchise up to date with laptops and iPhones. Get a group of friends and go see it Halloween night!

Chernobyl Diaries
New out on video.... I was looking for something to watch on Halloween if you planned on staying home. The plot is a group of 20 something's go on an extreme tour of Chernobyl.... I was drawn to this because I would personally do this. The movie was horrible.... The acting is okay, it's the storyline.... I was expecting ghosts or radio active deformed creatures... Nope. Just mental patients exposed to radiation that eat people, but doctors can catch them. Pass on this one folks!

Magic Mike
Every women I know has seen this, so when in the video store I picked up a copy. Not my favorite movie, but.... It has an actual story line. I understand why the women like it.... All the six packs and I don't mean soft drinks.... Alert.... There is a shot of an actual part of the male anatomy... Don't let your kids watch this.... Modeled after the true story of Channing Tatum, a sequel is in the works.

Movie Reviews

I watched a bunch of movies over the last few days;

Resident Evil:
The newest resident evil, ehhh, it was okay, if I was you I would wait for it to come out on DVD... I did see it in 3D which is always pretty neat, but the story line of this installment is the worst by far, the ending is the saving grace, it sets it up for another installment that I actually may want to see!

Expendables 2:
Old guys can still kick ass! Even more of our favorite action heroes from days past are in this sequel! This is a total guys movie, so don't look for a story line, instead look for lots of action, explosions, and fight scenes! My favorite thing about the whole movies was where the actors would steal each others lines from past movies!

Woman in Black:
Daniel is trying to shed some of his child acting persona with this grown up thriller... I think too much of the movie was left on the cutting room floor that actually tells the whole story... Skip for now!

Cabin in the Woods:
Lots of friends had seen this one but no one told me the plot... And for good reason! It is a little hard to follow until Sigourney Weaver appears at the end to explain it to you! Worth seeing because it is totally different from past horror movies, plus Sigourney is in it!

The Lucky One:
From the same people that brought you The Notebook, and you can tell. If you love these type of movies or Zachary Efron, then you've probably already seen this movie, if you haven't you aren't missing much... A good date movie though to show your sensitive side!

Interview with Michael Epic!

Hi Mr. Epic.... Thank you for doing this interview with me.

- Its my pleasure, TeeJay. Thanks for having me.

#1. First off, tell us what style of music you create? Who/what are your inspirations?

#1 - I create commercial dance-pop! Rowdy, rump shaking dance pop! (laughs) my inspirations are LMFAO, Britney Spears, Sam Sparro, David Guetta and Glitch Mob. Those are all acts that bring something unique to the table of dance-pop and just pop in general that really resonates with me. They have a lot of impact on me as an artist.
-

#2. Are you touring or DJ'ing anywhere?

#2 - Not yet...so far we've only gotten down the first single "Way She (Wobble)" and Tipsy Girls coming up very soon, within perhaps the next week? So not touring or DJ'ing anywhere, yet.
-

#3. What made you want to get into music?

#3 - I've always loved music. My mother said when I was a young boy and music came on, everything else stopped. I can remember growing up and listening to everything from White Zombie to Quincy Jones, Alice Cooper, Nirvana, Tupac Shakur and even Insane Clown Posse. I listened to it all. EVEN TIFFANY if anyone remembers her (laughs)
-

#4. So where did the 'Wobble" song come from?

#4 - Well, this past year at February Album Writing Month (FAWM.ORG) I met up with Eric August who's FAWM screen name is @lazyafro and we started talking about music and possibly doing a collaboration and he made the beat, I wrote the song and I just thought "Way She Wobble" would be something fun to write about. I'm hoping to get that into the contemporary lexicon lol have people saying "way she wobbles" because of me (laughs)
-

#5. Most famous person(s) you have met?

#5 - I met Bruce Willis and Jaime Kennedy once, Kid Rock and Hank Williams JR. I met Pro MMA Fighter Ricco Ralston yesterday and he was pretty cool and one of my best buddies is up and coming MMA fighter Drew Gibson. I'm hoping he'll be famous soon!

#6. So give me the scoop on Scooter Braun.

#6 - Well, Scooter Braun is Justin Bieber's manager and has also recently signed Korean rapper PSY due to his amazing breakout hit "Gangnam Style" in which I listen to 10 times a day at least and rock that horsey dance (laughs) GANGNAM STYLE!

But Scooter Braun is a visionary in this current generation of pop stars...I mean look at Justin Bieber and his dedicated following. I really feel like Scooter would benefit from having me on his label and I would benefit from being on his label. In the future with some of the catchy songs I've got on the album, I'm hoping it'll become clear to see why.
-

#7. Do you think he will sign you? Has he reached out to you yet?

#7 - Do I think he will sign me? I think he would want to sign me down the road if I blew up a viral video like PSY did. He has not reached out to me yet...regardless of my many attempts to contact him. I know that record executives aren't really big on taking chances...but lets leave it all on the table right here in black and white with TeeJay of TeeJayToday! Scooter Braun, you should be taking a chance with me because I would be an investment that would pay off ten fold.

Who thinks that Scooter Braun needs to be more like TeeJay? I do. TeeJay showing Michael Epic love where Scooter Braun does not (laughs)
-

#8. What is your next big publicity stunt?

#8 - I can't tell you that (laughs) because then someone will try to beat me too it. Its top secret! Its that good! I'll tell you what I will do though...after it all goes down and the fire is lit and people are banging on my door for an interview...the very first one will go to you, TeeJay!
-

#9. So tell us about your next album/single.

#9 - The debut album "So What's Epic?" will be out in October or earlier next year. We may make it earlier if we finish earlier. The next single is called "Tipsy Girls" and was written by me and the beat created by Eric August. I'm trying to lure Pro MMA fighter Ricco Ralston to come lay down a rapping verse on it for me...he seems interested, so we'll see!
-

#10. Where can we purchase it?

#10 - ITunes and Amazon are good. I've got them distributed many places, but those are obviously the most convenient places to find my music.
-

#11. Tell us one thing about yourself that your current fans don't even know yet.

#11 - I was big in Bowling Green, KY between 2005 - 2008 with my music project "My Perfect Apathy" which was a small town success story! I've also got two singles released and on ITunes under a different alias named "Janus Mask" and that project isn't dead...just undergoing serious remodeling and hanging out on the backburner for now while I focus on the Michael Epic music project.

Dark Knight Rises Review and Customer Service

First, I am going to give you a review of The Dark Knight Rises, then I have a customer service story for you about the theater I was in.

Of course it is opening day that I choose to go see the latest installment of The Dark Knight trilogy.  The movie was GREAT, action, a story line, great use of music.  The times that Mr. Nolan uses silence in the movie really adds a great depth and angst to certain shots.  Micheal Cain adds the human element and emotion to this flick while Bale adds his usual charm.  I wish I could have gotten more of Cat Woman in this show, but leaves more for another movie maybe.  I even think that the ending wrapped up the trilogy well.  There are lots of new toys for Batman, and Bain... he is a character that I was kind of rooting for after I found out his back story.  There is even a little Easter egg at the end that represents The Boy Wonder.... See if you can find it!  This is definitely a movie that I will own when it hits DVD!

Does it bother anyone else that they city is referred to as Gotham even thought it is blatenly obvious that it is New York.  I mean they even showed Saks Fifth Avenue in a shot!

Customer Service:

The theater is hectic, I mean it is the biggest movie of the summer AND opening day (The Dark Knight Rises).  I drop by the theater at 5PM to purchase a ticket for the 8:40 showing. (It is showing on 5 screens here)  I had no problems getting a ticket, wait in the line was less than 5 minutes due to the fact that they had multiple lines open for such an occasion.  I show back up at the theater at about 7:15 thinking that there might be a line.  There was a small line started so I used the time to get a soda and fruit snacks.  Again, wait in line was minimal and cashier was very friendly.  I proceeded to the waiting line for my theater showing.  The crew was prepared with velvet ropes and they were ushering patrons to the correct line to wait for the previous movie goers to vacate the theater.  I waited in line for about 20 minutes (not bad) while the theater was cleaned.  I walked into the theater about 8PM and took a seat on the far right side (not my usual center due to what happened last time *see last blog update) The previews started and the theater fell quiet, no cell phones, no crying babies, no talking... just silence... glorious silence.  When about 20 minutes was left in the movie I thought it was starting to get warm in the theater, I contributed it to being summer in TX and over 100 people packed into a theater.  I thought no more of it and it did not hinder my movie watching.  Movie was over and I am in the first 5 to exit the theater, to my surprise there are ushers waiting at the door.  They are handing out FREE passes and apologizing for the air conditioning.  This speaks volumes to me about their customer service.  Someone noticed that something was not right, and management had an apology and gift waiting for each person in that theater.  I don't think it was needed, but much appreciated.  I will go out of my way to watch EVERY movie at Cinemark theaters!

Thank you to the crew and management team to the Tinsel Town Theater in Grapevine, TX.  I WILL see you again!

(I usually don't write about a company unless it is a sponsorship, but no good deed goes unnoticed in my book! Thank you!)

My heart goes out the wounded and perished in the Aurora CO incident.  It pains me that there are sick people in this world that can justify the taking of innocent lives as they enjoy one of my favorite past times... something as harmless as going to the movies.

Movies!!!!

If you watched my last video then you know that I am still on a business trip, so on my days off I have lots of time for movies!

(Spoiler alert)

Spider Man 3D
This movie was AMAZING!  I watched it first, then called for my parents to take my little brothers to go see it the next day.  BTW... Mary Jane is not in the movie!  Emma Stone is the new love interest and I am now in love with her!  Special effects are great.  Andrew plays a better angst teen than Toby in my opinion.  There were only 2 things that kind of bothered me: first as a biology guy there were a few things that didn't make sense, second, Why does Peter Parker tell nearly every main character in this movie that he IS Spider Man?

Prometheus
A Great Sci-fi flick from Mr. Scott.  The opening scene with the "Engineer" with the amazing world behind him as he becomes the DNA of the new planet is AWESOME!  BTW, the amazing world is none other than Earth!  One thing that puzzles me is why the humanoid robot kills the male scientist?  I don't think it was needed.  I am also excited by the ending, it looks like it could be a prequel to the prequel of an "Aliens" reboot!

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Don't waste your money on a movie ticket for this one, wait til it comes out on disc to rent.  How in the world can you relate one of the most iconic presidents to being a vampire slayer.  To try and convince the audience that the Civil War was about Vampires wanting to rule the U.S. is almost comical.  Oh yeah, the confederate army was made up of Vampires at the battle of Gettysburg.  Vampires can now go out in daylight, and vampires are not allowed to kill other vampires.  Look out Blade....  You cant do that anymore!

The Help
I told you I was in love with Emma Stone now.  I watched this movie thinking that it was just going to be another chick flick.  But it really does touch you, you feel the emotions of the ladies in this movie.  Don't get me wrong, there are some very funny parts too, especially when this very snooty white women eats a pie with human feces in it!  Or when Sissy Spacek says the line about the 2 things she remembers.  Emma Stone's character is dumped by her boyfriend in this movie, I just wish I was there to pick her up and be her shoulder to cry on (the rebound guy)  If you have ever had a nanny or long time babysitter when you were young, this movie will hit home.

Movie Etiquette:
If you are going to the movies, I think there are a few unofficial rules that you need to follow when there.
+When I go to the movies, I expect to be totally immersed into the story, I dont want to hear your conversation, so please, be quiet.
+Turn off your cell phone, this last time that I was there, the screen had a PSA asking people to turn off their phones, some punk-ass kids started holding their phones for everyone to see that they were still on and bright as possible.
+Don't take your infant child to a sci-fi movie, you know that a loud bang or etc... will probably make your child cry in the theater!
+Please be on time for the movie, I dont want to be 5 minutes into the movie then all of a sudden you and your entourage walk in and start pointing at empty seats and talking about which ones you want.  If you are late for a movie, wait for the next screening!
+When I go to the movie, I like to set dead center on the 5th row.  That way I can see nothing but screen and get a surround sound effect from the speakers.  During prometheus, I went to an early screening of the movie and there were about 10 people in this entire theater, so why would a guy come in and set directly to my right?  He didnt even leave an empty seat in between us.  About 3 minutes later another guy comes in and sits directly to the left of me without an empty seat as a buffer. WTF people!  I was so uncomfortable, I could barely enjoy the movie.

Actor Interview: James Mapes

James Mapes is an Actor, Speaker, Life Coach, Best-Selling Author, and all-around Great Guy!

TJ: Hi James!  Thank you for doing this Interview for www.TeeJayToday.com.  How have you been?

JM: TeeJay, I have been fabulous and that is not an exaggeration.  Life is productive and fun.

TJ: So what are you currently working on?

JM: I am currently involved in a number of projects.  I’ve just completed the next draft of my new book, The Elephant and the Rider: Living an Exceptional Life.  It’s been in the works for nine years and has required a lot of persistence.  Should you wonder, the Elephant is the subconscious mind and the Rider is the conscious mind.  The reality is that our conscious mind is like a small rider atop a 6000 elephant.  We can’t control our subconscious mind but we can learn to influence it.

JM: And, my wife and I are writing a thriller entitled The Regression.  I will play the lead male role and find a talented woman to play a very challenging role.

TJ: What made you want to get into acting?

JM: The genesis of my desire goes back to high school.  I was never very good at athletics and theater was the one place I felt most comfortable.  After failing miserably as a college math major and chemistry minor, I ended up getting my Master Arts in Theater with my undergraduate in psychology.  I have always wanted to act and studied with some of the best teachers in the world.

TJ: Which genre do you prefer: TV, Theater, or Movies? And why?

JM: Now I prefer movies.  There are challenging and you know when you are going to be finished working.  In my youth I didn’t mind spending weeks rehearsing and traveling in bus and truck tours of plays but now, my choice is film.  And, films are challenging and fun.

TJ: Of all the actors/actresses you have worked with, who was your favorite?

JM: Erika Slezak on One Life to Live was one of the kindest actors I have ever worked with.  There are so many it is not fair to single them out.  But, there are a few I have spent time with and a couple who have become friends.  Tom Cruise is another very good man and one of the most driven and energetic people I have ever me.  Clint Eastwood gave me great acting advice and Anthony Hopkins is one of the most talented and brilliant and – inspiring people I know.

TJ: f you could work with anyone in TV, Theater, or Film, who would you choose?

JM: Anthony Hopkins!

TJ: Have you ever been star struck?

JM: Hummmmm.  I have met everyone I want to meet.

TJ: Lets switch gears a bit and tell me a little bit about your Best Selling book. Quantum Leap Thinking: An Owner’s Guide to the Mind.

JM: The book really makes everything complicated about the mind – simple.  It is an interactive book that inspires people to grow, learn and be creative.  I teach people how to manage their thinking, lower their stress, visualize, take risks and turn fear into power.  The book has done quite well and, more importantly, opened doors for me to meet brilliant and talented individuals like – Anthony Hopkins.

TJ: What do you think about what Author Clive Cussler’s review of your book? "You've certainly hit the nail on the head. If I had read Quantum Leap Thinking at the age of 20, I could have saved many, many mistakes and a helluva lot of wasted effort."

JM: I was always a great fan of Clive Cussler so, on a whim, I sent him a book.  I couldn’t believe it when he sent me a letter.  Then four of his books (autographed) arrived in the mail.  Numerous phone conversations followed and finally we me.  What a thrill!

TJ: Favorite Acting Exercise?

JM: I don’t have one.

TJ: I am interested in being an actor, but I am in rural Texas, What advice do you have for me, (I have already hosted an Entertainment TV show with 500,000 viewers) but no bites since then.

JM: Let’s be truthful.  The acting business is just plain tough.  My advice to you and everyone is to create your own vehicle, make friends with rejection and DO NOT give up.

TJ: Beach or Mountains:
JM: Beach.
JM: My wife and I live and write part of the year at our place in St. Thomas, U. S. Virgin Islands.

TJ: Morning or Evening:
JM: Evening

TJ: Favorite types of movies to watch (drama, comedy etc.)

JM: Thrillers and mysteries

TJ: Quickfire…  what is your favorite:  song, movie, color, animal, food, sport, number, celebrity,

JM: Half the Battle from the Broadway show Ben Franklin in Paris, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Purple, Golden Retriever, Paella, Horse Racing, nine, Anthony Hopkins

TJ: Do you have a hobby?

JM: Honest to God, my work is my hobby, performing, acting, writing, speaking and peak performance coaching plus I love camping and fresh water fishing and – scuba diving.

TJ: Do you have an interesting story that should have made it to a tabloid?  About you or someone else?

JM: I don’t think so other than I found out totally by accident in 1995 that my father adopted me.  I tracked my biological father down, made a reservation to go visit him and he dropped dead the morning I was supposed to fly out.  Whew!

TJ: All of the films, TV, and plays that you have done in your Extensive career, which is your favorite?

JM: 'Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country' because I got to meet and spend time with the entire original cast.

TJ: What is one interesting fact about you that your fans don’t already know?

JM: That I turned down hosting my own national talk show because the producers insisted that I must have a total incompetent as a co-host.

TJ: Thank you James for doing this off-the-cuff interview, I wish you much success in your future endeavors, and send me press releases when you have them and we will post them on TeeJayToday.com!

The Avengers in 3D

I was shocked to see the line at the theaters to go see The Avengers.  My little brother and I were going to see the 815 showing, but it and 5 other show times were completely sold out.  We were lucky enough to get the last tickets for the 905 showing.  We were extremely lucky to get the ones in 3D, since that is how I like to see my action movies!

The movie was AMAZING!  The special effects were outstanding, especially in 3D!  The story line made sense, the acting was good too!  The Hulk and Iron Man steal the entire show with their humor.  Captain America is given his props and kind of becomes the leader of the group, which is great to see the Original Avenger taking some superiority and for standing toe to toe with Thor!  (Marvel has jumped through a lot of hoops to tie all of the movies together, like all of the Easter eggs in Iron Man, Captain America, etc...)

If you get a chance to go see this movie, make sure you see it in 3D to get the full effect of the scenery and backgrounds.  Oh yeah, the fight scenes are worth the ticket price alone!  Plus, come on, Samuel L Jackson is in it!

Artist Spotlight with @Vassy

A little backgound on Recording Artist Vassy (from her website)
Sometimes Vassy just needs to be Vassy. This doesn't get to happen all the time. Because when the native-Australian is serving as a successful songwriter for premier artists all over the globe, Vassy Karaglorgos has to be thinking about someone beside herself. However, for a musician with melodies constantly on her brain, and rhythms perpetually flowing through her body, this is not an easy task. Quite simply, the native-Australian, whose new album Beautiful Day is a hand-clapping, foot-stomping pop parade of giddy proportions, is a creator. And as Vassy says, "When you're a creator, you just gotta stay creating." Being an artist is who she is. "I've got things to give people," she says proudly.

Here is my TwitterView with Vassy

Awesome TwitterView with @ChrisRiggi

If you don't already know who Chris Riggi is, here is a refresher for you:

I recently caught up with Chris on Twitter and he agreed to do a TwitterView with me.... Here is a candid and FUN interview with the Co-Star of the upcoming ABC hit drama, 'Americana':

TeeJayToday: Thanks Chris... Remember there are no wrong answers, just be yourself and of course, PLUG everything you are working on!  How are you doing?

Chris Riggi: Reading a few scripts at the moment, just relaxing in the apt with the dogs. Yourself?

TJ:  I just wanted to throw this out there... You are a Virgo and so am I, you were born on 9/18 and me 9/19 We should have been brothers!

CR: Wow! That is close... very cool.

TJ:  Any great scripts coming up?   How was your visit with John Cusak?

CR: I love Indies, like 'To Redemption' because its like 5 people in a room who have PASSION, and we go all out with no ego, just trust!

CR: Well, I had a small part in "Adult World" with Emma Roberts and John, we worked the same days but I never officially met him until recently.

TJ: I saw!...I cant wait to see

CR: The Raven was sick! I love those types of movies.

TJ: How much longer till we can see ?

CR: is a winner for sure and the word is SOON!

TJ: Awesome.!.. I need a new show to watch... (

TJ: I see pictures of your dogs on Twitter, tell us about them.

CR: Stella is a chihuahua, named after Stella from 'A Streetcar Named Desire', and Tucci is a French Bulldog named after Stanley Tucci.

TJ: Let's talk about the movie that introduced you to me, Vampires Suck, what was your favorite thing about that movie, and let's not forget your abs.

CR: was a blast to work on. I enjoyed it all. The cast and crew,... esp the Directors were very kind and encouraging.

CR: When I read for the part, I brought my own spray bottle in (not in script), and it made it into the actual movie. (SEE CLIP AT TOP)

TJ: The Spray Bottle part made me laugh out loud in the theater (with everyone else!) and the teats! Cant forget the teats!

TJ: I think you should make a YouTube video of a an AB Workout... It could go VIRAL!  Do you have any tips for us?

CR: Eat clean, organic, and eat often. I have since become a vegetarian. But stay away from artificial foods and sugars.

TJ: I need to do that, maybe we could work on a YT video together, you tell me what to do and I do it and film it!

CR: I literally would have photos of Ryan Reynolds and Jason Statham lying around for motivation, and it helped. Did the same for

CR: Best tip I can give is to allow yourself a semi-cheat day. But ask around, do research and stay strong.

TJ: I wish I had the body of Ryan Reynolds..... or YOU!

CR: BJ Britt and Charlie Weber were ripped when they showed up to set, so I had some friendly competition 4

TJ: Everyone had amazing bodies in that movie! Made me rethink that buttered popcorn and soda I was having as I watched it in the theater! LOL

CR: In all honestly vegan/vegetarian is the way to go.

TJ: I'm going to go Vegetarian, (Thanks to you) but I need to get all of the bad stuff out of the house first.

CR: If its in the house, you will eat it. So get it out! ha...

TJ: What is the craziest fan moment you have had?

CR: No crazy fan moments for me. Mine are laid back, chill and people I could sit in a bar and shoot the $#*&! with.

TJ: That's amazing! My fans recognize me from my show, but never remember my name, plus they usually are "under the influence" when they see me!

TJ: If you ever come to Texas, we have got to get together and shoot the $#*&!

CR: When I come to Texas, soon hopefully, we can do this face to face my friend.

TJ: Rapid Fire! Your Favorite Book, Color, Food, Animal, Sport, Celebrity, Song...

CR: "True and False"- Mamet,  color- 6pm blue or olive green,  food- anything w/o meat,  sport- WWE,  Celeb- you,  song- "Don't Stop Believin'"-Journey

TJ: I have a fan question for you, wants to know if you have ever kissed a guy for a role?

CR: I have not yet, but a role is a role. I would do it in a heartbeat if it's in the script and the actor was on the level about it.  Leave your Ego at the door.

TJ: I agree! Are you currently in a relationship?  What do you look for in a relationship?

CR: I am in a relationship. I look for loyalty and kindness most of all. YOU MUST LOVE DOGS, Cusack ha!

CR: In a relationship you have to find COMMONALITY or else it wont work.  That is why actors get together so often on set.

CR: Being funny is not an issue, everyone can be funny, humor is everywhere, dark or light. My gal is hilarious and we have a blast.

TJ: That is Awesome! You better put a ring on her finger!

CR: I am not getting married anytime soon, I have thought about it many times, its my romantic side, I have to hush those thoughts ha!

TJ: Is she an actress, do we know her?  Tell us about her.

CR: I would never say never about dating an actress, its tempting of coarse, but I love a woman who can cook. Food is love baby!

CR: Baking is fine too!

TJ: That's my problem I think....I'm addicted to great food!

TJ: So what do you like to do in your down time?

CR: Down time, I like to be with my family, dogs and friends. I love to cook, read and be around people. I do have a man-cave I retreat to tho.

CR: , just feel like plugging it more, ha

TJ: Give us a synopsis of @AmericanaABC.

CR: A legendary fashion designer - his life, his job and his family.

TJ: I'm already a fan because you are in it and I am ready to delve into this show!

CR: Fan wise, we need to mention the beautiful and talented

TJ: Absolutely, ALL EXTREMELY TALENTED!

CR: She will hate this but, the Director told Ashley "I could film this whole show with you, me and the camera guy" that is how good she is.

TJ: She is Amazing and Beautiful, and of course, my favorite in the Twilight Saga.

TJ: What is one interesting fact that your fans don't already know about you?

CR: I took creative writing in high school, true but boring. I am a fantastic kisser!

CR: Hahahaha!

TJ: haha.... We will have to ask your GF if that is true!

TJ: Thanks for the Great TwitterView Chris!

CR: Much love man, anything you need don't hesitate to contact direct. cheers..viva

Just FYI: Chris Riggi is one of the most sincere and down to Earth American Actors that I have had the privilege of interviewing.  I think he is undervalued and I expect GREAT things from him in the future.  He has played his roles perfectly in the past on the sets of: To Redemption, Gossip Girl, and Vampires Suck.  I am excited that we will be seeing a lot of Chris in the future with all of the films in post-production.  You can see a full list of everything Chris is working on at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2861180/

The Hunger Games

I am not going to act like a book snob and say that I would rather read the book than watch the movie, because that is bull.... I want to see the movie. Since seeing the movie I am definitely going to buy the book to learn more about the characters.

I heard a rumor that this series is going to be bigger than Twilight and maybe even Harry Potter, after trying to get a movie ticket in the last 24 hours, I believe it. I tried to make it to the midnight showing....sold out...3 AM showing.... sold out... all times Friday.... sold out.. I finally found a loop hole. In Abilene, TX, we have a hidden treasure. We have a Drive-In theater... you don't pre-order tickets, you just show up! I got there about an hour early, but there were already over 100 cars there.

The movie was AWESOME! It will be huge! There is only one thing that I know doesn't matter, but I stared at it the ENTIRE time. (spoiler alert) In the actual games, the main character gets a bow and a satchel of arrows...she shoot a lot of arrows and never seams to run out of arrows. I think the casting was great, the story line (I haven't read the book yet) was developed well and leaves you 'hungry' for more. I cant wait for the next installments of the series! Buy the Book, Watch the movie.... in any order that you want!
